Surveys: Ken has developed and conducts survey protocols for invasive aquatic species including Dreissena Mussels, New Zealand Mudsnails, Water Hyacinth, and Didymo.

Microscopy: Ken is an accomplished microcroscopist and photomicrographer who has expertise in identifying Dreissena mussel veligers and many other microscopic organisms. He is developing an exhaustive photo inventory of preserved mussel veligers and look-alike organisms.

Project Management: Ken has developed project plans, budgets, scopes-of-work for water hyacinth removal, mudsnail surveys, mudsnail research, Dreissena mussel surveys, volunteer biomonitoring projects, intermittent creek surveys, and other projects.

Invasive Species Consultation: Ken has expertise and experience in identifying invasive species, developing monitoring protocols for invasive species, and creating education programs to prevent the introduction of aquatic nuisance species.

Presentations: Ken routinely speaks to fly fishing clubs and civic groups about water quality, aquatic invertebrates, and fly fishing.

Photography: Ken has experience in using digital photography to convey messages necessary for education, science, and visual enjoyment. He specializes in wildlife, vernal pools, flowers, and aquatic invertebrates. Ken frequently works with species-of-concern and listed species.
