Dry Creek - Is this creek the model for clean water invertebrates? - GO HERE
Dry Creek (Yolo County, CA.) is an intermittent creek that only flows for about six months of the year. It is possibly the home of a very healthy population of mayflies and stoneflies! How? Before the construction of dams, most of California's waterways were dry by early summer. We are going to sample this creek every couple weeks this winter and spring.

Invertebrate monitoring in ephemeral and intermittent creeks
Many of the ephemeral / intermittent waterways in the Putah Creek drainage support super rich invertebrate communities.
"Emergence" a PowerPoint Presentation for Fly Fishing Clubs
Ken Davis studies the emergence patterns of aquatic insects. Some of his observations are leading to new fly "patterns" and challenge out-dated fly-fishing mantras. Ken's presentation also covers the mayfly and caddisfly life-cycles and how understanding the difference will help you catch more fish.

This is the best way to learn aquatic entomology. Hire Ken Davis to teach your club stream entomology in your favorite waters.
