"W" Weir

The weirs constructed on Lower Putah Creek have been designed to increase the dissolved oxygen, increase fish habitat, and increase the overall riparian diversity along the creek. Some of the older weirs have survived flood waters close to 16,000 cfs. The Weir Project was the genius of Richard Marovich (Streamkeeper), Rick Poore (Hydromorphologist) and Rick Fowler (Construction Specialist). See the D.L. Rosgen WEIR ARTICLE for construction information.

Research Weir 6A

What are the Putah Creek Weirs going to accomplish? Theory and limited experience with existing weirs show that they will benefit the aquatic invertebrate, fish, and riparian wildlife.

There are two trout in the video. Other fish are using the weir but were not including for time and file size.

See the D.L. Rosgen WEIR ARTICLE for construction information.
